Engineering Vascularized NAC Constructs for Preclinical In Vivo Evaluation

Led by Sahar Vakili

The project focuses on the development and in vivo evaluation of 3D‑bioprinted nipple–areolar complex (NAC) constructs for post‑mastectomy breast reconstruction. We work on optimizing hybrid biomaterial systems, assessing tissue integration and vascularization in vivo, and investigating how scaffold design, including infill density, as well as bioactive cues, enhance regenerative outcomes.
